Will Arnett was born as the son of Alexandra and E. James Arnett. His father was a corporate lawyer and a brewer and also pursued various other occupations. He is younger to his two sisters by three years and he also has a brother who is nine years younger than him. Arnett attended French-speaking schools in Toronto and as such he is still able to speak the language, even though he is not quite fluent in it.

Arnett studied at the Leaside High School and after graduating he studied at the Lakefield College School in Lakefield, Ontario, for a short duration. Later he even studied at the Concordia University in Montreal but dropped out only after one semester. He also worked as a director for his father’s brewery company for some time before attending the Harvard Law School.

When he was still a teenager, Arnett was encouraged by his mother to pursue a career in acting. As a result, he started auditioning for getting roles in commercials, in Toronto. He also realized that he actually took pleasure in acting and that it was something he wanted to continue doing for the rest of his life. When he became twenty years old, Arnett shifted to New York and joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, to study acting.

Arnett has married twice and his first marriage was to actress Penelope Ann Miller, in December 1994. However, the marriage did not last long and the couple divorced in 1995. Later, Arnett started dating actress Missy Yager, with whom he had a live in relationship for four years. They broke roughly around the time The Mike O’Malley Show, in which the two of them appeared together, started airing.

In 2000, Arnett started dating comedic actress Amy Poehler. The two married in August 2003 and welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Archibald “Archie” William Emerson Arnett, on 25th October 2008. The couple currently lives with their son and two dogs named Puzzle and Suki. Arnett is passionate about playing his Xbox and his gamer tag is “Roncore”.

Arnett started his acting career doing roles in plays while he was studying in New York. He was then cast in the independent movie Erie. Later, starting by acting in TV pilots, Arnett gradually moved on to getting more significant roles. His prominent shows on television include The Sopranos, Will & Grace, Arrested Development, Freak Show, Sesame Street, 30 Rock, Sit Down, Shut Up, and numerous others.

He has done a significant number of movies in which he has portrayed varying characters. His most prominent movies include Close Up, The Acting Class, RV, Grind House, Hot Rod, The Brothers Solomon, Semi-Pro, The Rocker, Spring Breakdown, G-Force and yet to be released film, When in Rome etc. He is also going to make an appearance in the upcoming films, Despicable Me, Jonah Hex and We’re the Millers, all of which are currently in the process of post-production.

In 2004, Will along with his co-stars, won the Future Classic Award of the TV Land Awards for his work in Arrested Development. In addition, he has been nominated for the Emmy Awards twice – the first time in 2006, under the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, for his work in Arrested Development and the second time in 2008, under the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his small appearance in 30 Rock. Will has also been nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award twice, along with his co-stars, under the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, for his work in Arrested Development.

Role In Arrested Development

In Arrested Development, Christina plays the role of George Oscar Bluth, Jr., and better known as G.O.B. Besides being the eldest son of the Bluth family, G.O.B. is also the father of Steve Holt. Being a part-time magician, he was one of the founding members of a group named “Magicians’ Alliance” that was formed to preserve the secrets of the magicians. Although, he became the president of the Bluth Company, he however, he exerts no real power as his brother Michael is still in charge. G.O.B. was ignored by his father when he was a child and does not respect him even now, when he has become an adult. In addition, his mother has never shied away from showing her hatred for him. G.O.B. is known as the womanizer of the Bluth family, but despite this he has no real friends. Whenever his confidence is destroyed or questioned, he explodes and cries with self-loathing and even goes on to take extreme steps to end his self disgust.
