Arrested Development’s star hits big screen

Alia Shawkwat, better known as Maeby of Arrested Development, HAS whipped the box office with her brand new movie ‘Whip out’. Movie has been doing well and her role as Pash has been appraised by critics. Telling about her experience during shooting of the film she revealed that most of her scenes were with male actors and she used to get nervous there. Whereas, her character Pash was totally different and crazy, it was just all over and loved to grab guys.
Pash was much better than Alia in skating as said by her, “I was going crazy. I didn’t mind it that much, to tell you the truth. I did sports as a young child and got it out of my system. I realized I’m not a sporty kind of gal, so I was more focused on my character development. But, I think Pash is the most fun.’

Her role as Mae “Maeby” Fünke was also very much liked by the audience. As she says her on screen kiss with George Michael was her first in actual life, even though both characters had lot of confusion regarding whether they are cousins r not? Maeby was many times a butt of jokes and intended to be a test tube baby. Her incompetence regarding grades in class leads to make way outs for earning money. She successfully gets into glamour business until the lie about her age is exposed during her 16th birthday’s invitation. Maeby also tries to gather money by shamming herself to be a wheel-chair needy girl. In the last season, she rakes up her life story to her boss and he comments that it looks a film script. For playing this character, Alia was nominated for 2005 & 2006 Screen Actors Guild Awards and was able to won 2005 Young Artist Award.
