Alia Shawkwat, better known as Maeby of Arrested Development, HAS whipped the box office with her brand new movie ‘Whip out’. Movie has been doing well and her role as Pash has been appraised by critics. Telling about her experience during shooting of the film she revealed that most of her scenes were with male actors and she used to get nervous there. Whereas, her character Pash was totally different and crazy, it was just all over and loved to grab guys.
Pash was much better than Alia in skating as said by her, “I was going crazy. I didn’t mind it that much, to tell you the truth. I did sports as a young child and got it out of my system. I realized I’m not a sporty kind of gal, so I was more focused on my character development. But, I think Pash is the most fun.’
Her role as Mae “Maeby” Fünke was also very much liked by the audience. As she says her on screen kiss with George Michael was her first in actual life, even though both characters had lot of confusion regarding whether they are cousins r not? Maeby was many times a butt of jokes and intended to be a test tube baby. Her incompetence regarding grades in class leads to make way outs for earning money. She successfully gets into glamour business until the lie about her age is exposed during her 16th birthday’s invitation. Hey friends! It has been 22 years since Arrested Development TV Show star Jason Bateman earned the reputation of being the youngest member of the America’s Director’s Guild, in its entire history. Jason received this honor at the tender age of 18, when he was called upon to direct three episodes of the TV show, The Hogan Family.

Reportedly, Jason is all set to direct a big screen picture. It has also been reported that Jason will also be directing the pilot for a new series on FOX. And it has further been said that the actor might also be working on two other projects, the details of which have still not been revealed. Wow! Seems like the actor has both his hands full of loads and loads of great projects and I am sure he is more than excited to be doing so much single handedly.
I am sure that all you fans of Arrested Development, will be praying for the success of Jason as he turns a new page in his life. It’s all too incestous at the Arrested Development
If one were to check down the story line of our favorite TV show closely, it shall be noticed that in its light humorous manner, incest themes have been too well depicted and fairly in a good quantity over the three season run of the show.
Take the instance of George Michael who is infatuated by his own cousin Maeby, but it is not fully known that if she is really his cousin or not. Very interestingly, Steve Holt appeals to Maeby, and again, whether the two are cousins or not, is quite uncertain.
The “Afternoon Delight”, which is a season second episode, has Maeby and Michael voicing Afternoon Delight by Starland Vocal Band, clearly not anticipating what the actual nature of the song is.
Then if you recall the “Family Ties” episode, Michael assumes, Nellie Bluth to be his elder sister, whereas Nellie feels that Michael is just lustful for her. Michael is later seduced by Lindsay too, when she learns that she is an adopted child and not his blood sister.
But a negative side, which has again very funnily been portrayed about incest is, Michael’s girlfriend Rita, who is mentally not very developed as her parents are actually cousins. Then Oscar’s affection for Lucille, are also too well known, even though they are not related by the virtue of blood, but just through marriage.
So clearly, the moral debate on whether incest is ok or not always rages on, especially in grown up families’ these days. But on Arrested Development, where there is no end to the fun and hoopla, and where so many social issues are taken up, this one really scores the goal.
That is because they have shown the various sides and dimensions to the theme and not just brazenly used it for the advantage of ratings or anything like that.
